Artwork update

Artwork and poster design for the upcoming Freq Nasty show in Wellington.

What a great Christmas and New Years it has been! A satisfying ending to what i personally thought was a pretty shitty year, with some exceptions. 2009 is here now, and I'm determined to ensure its utter awesomeness.

What have we been up to since the last update? Other than Weta work? Well, went to Rhythm and Vines over the break, up in sunny Gisbourne - and did some Photography work while we were up there. What a great experience! It was our second time spending our new years there and it always delivers with such a nice vibe, great weather, music and just generally lots of fun.
I am actually trying to find some time to work on an XML/flash gallery to display some of pictures i took, once i am able to work out all the details. So fingers crossed i can get that all together.
In the meantime, here's some of the ones i took amongst those taken by others at the official R&V website gallery or ths link from the New Zealand Herald.

As you can see, Phil has been hard at work with his DJ'ing and production with his Strictly 138 crew with the Upcoming Ghost Dubs TRUTH gig, and we have been working on artwork for the 2009 FreQ Nasty Orientation tour, He's playing here in Wellington on the 5th of March and it shall be a rather excellent night!

So i think that's about it, project wise that's all i can report (without getting into trouble) Belated love and happy new years to all.

peace,
-Jamesmogg

Leaves climbing a wall - Cloudy Bay Vineyard, Blenheim, NZ.

Minor update from the Brothers-Mogg: Well, since the onslaught of both an increasingly busy lifestyle and the dawn of myspace, we have found less and less time to keep shit updated on the blog.
Sooo... for the last few weeks we have been pushing a little harder on the Beanz project with the filming of extra pickup scenes, as well as ramping up for other post production related tasks such as rotoscoping and soundmixing, all is looking pretty good so far. We hope to upload the opening scene at some point soon to give a taste tester of what the tone of the Beanz will be.
Phils been also doing DJ'ing and production too, more info on P-vans can be located on his myspace link on the top righthand side of this page.
As for me, well other than a projected 2nd half of 2007 to be ramping up on the Weta front with exciting (and stressful) new challanges, i have been doing a bit of Photography stuff when i find the time. I am planning on making a new section of the site that focuses on what i think to be my best work.
But as it stands at the moment - Beanz has the highest share of my free time....

peace and rock on!

This isnt the Amazon Jungle: Possum sits, and waits in the bush outside the back of our house - what hes waiting for? who knows. Cats are kinda weird like that.

Block from the former Hutt Valley Memorial College (aka Petone College)

The School has been closed and practically deserted for nearly 10 years now, this is where i spent my High School years. If there had happened to be a nuclear power station disaster nearby combined with the fact that the lawns are not still mowed, I would affectionately name it my own personal Chernobyl. The place sure had an eerie empty feel about it when i visited it last weekend.

where is the former petone college?

Not at work!

Come and check out our photography!

A group of us at Weta Digital are putting together a photo exhibition on at Thistle Hall Community Gallery next week (17th-21st September, 2006). It's a chance for people to see some of our art away from the fantastical worlds and characters we have a habit of creating. It opens on Sunday the 17th at 6pm - there's bound to be drinks and nibbles available, but feel free to stop by any time during the week and have a look. It'll be a fun, little exhibition to come and see.
For more information visit http://www.earlyworm.co.nz/notatwork/ or email info(at)earlyworm.co.nz

Phil and our dad having coffee in my parents recently acquired fully old school kiwiana caravan. They have adopted a new lifestyle now that all us kids have grown up - living in the south island working on vineyards picking grapes in the sun - they look very happy, broken free from the rat race. There is a undefined sense of accomplishment that they evoke in our minds.

(big ups!)
